Writing travel was a natural move into non-fiction for someone who spends as much time as I do exploring obscure corners of the globe.
Most notable trips of recent years have included Iceland by bicycle, Cuba by car, and the Transmongolian route by train. A boat trip along the coast of Greenland, and a weekend break in the Faroes, are on the cards for next summer. Any editors interested in covering these areas are welcome to get in touch.
The map below shows everywhere I've visited (pink) and some places I'm planning to go (blue):
I became interested in photography as a means to illustrate my writing, though I've also recently won a National Geographic photography competition - proving that a picture really can be worth a thousand words. I'm currently working on an illustrated book concept telling the story of my 1000-mile cycle trip around Iceland.
